PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: February 22, 2026

Kitchen in the Shire (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1) Information We Collect

A) Email (when you request a recipe card or subscribe)

If you request a recipe card or subscribe to our emails, we collect:

• Your email address.

• Basic email engagement data (such as opens and link clicks) provided by our email platform.

B) Member sign-in and access verification (when you use member login for instant downloads)

If you use our member login to access Channel Member benefits on our website, we collect or process:

• A Google sign-in result used to confirm the signed-in account for the login session.

• A YouTube channel identifier (channel ID) retrieved through the YouTube API so we can verify access eligibility.

• A membership access result (for example: eligible / not eligible, and tier when applicable).

• A secure session cookie that keeps you signed in so the site can show or hide member-only content.

Google may provide the account’s email address as part of sign-in. We do not use it for marketing and we do not store it for the membership verification feature.

We do not ask for or store your Google password.

C) Technical data (standard website basics)

Like most websites, we may process limited technical information such as:

• Device and browser type.

• Pages visited and basic usage logs.

• Approximate location derived from IP address.

This information is used for security, performance, and abuse prevention.

2) How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

• Deliver the recipe card or email you requested.

• Send updates (new videos, recipes, announcements) if you opted in.

• Provide member features, including instant recipe downloads for eligible Channel Members.

• Maintain site security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and keep the website functioning.

• Improve our emails and site experience using aggregated performance data.

3) Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies for the following reasons:

A) Membership login session

When you sign in, we set a secure session cookie (for example, “kits_session”) so the site can recognize your session and display member-only elements appropriately. If you block cookies, member login may not work correctly.

B) Basic site functionality

Some cookies may be necessary for core site functions.

You can control cookies through your browser settings.

4) YouTube Membership Verification and Google Sign-In

If you use our member login, the site verifies Channel Membership eligibility so we can unlock member benefits on our website. This uses Google sign-in and YouTube-related permissions to retrieve your YouTube channel ID and determine eligibility. We use this information only to determine access to member features on our website.

Important: you must sign in with the same Google account used for your YouTube Channel Membership, or the site may treat you as not eligible.

This website’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the applicable Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5) Who We Share Information With

We do not sell your personal information.

We share limited information with service providers that help us run the site and deliver what you requested, such as:

• Kit (formerly ConvertKit) for email delivery and email analytics (opens and link clicks).

• Google and YouTube APIs to support sign-in and eligibility verification for member access.

• Hosting and infrastructure providers required to operate the website and membership gate (including setting secure session cookies and serving site content).

These providers process data only to perform services for us.

6) Data Retention

• Email subscribers: we retain email subscription data until you unsubscribe or request deletion, subject to reasonable backups and recordkeeping.

• Member login sessions: we retain the session cookie and minimal eligibility data only as long as needed to operate sign-in, prevent abuse, and protect the site. Session cookies expire automatically based on configured session duration and may also be cleared by your browser.

7) Your Choices and Rights

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time.
