This 1914 Lazy Daisy Cake has been upgraded with a brown butter hot milk cake base, toasted almonds and coconut, and a browned butter salted caramel topping that bubbles into a glossy, golden finish under the broiler. The original Lazy Daisy Cake was already a classic old-fashioned cake, but this version leans harder into the flavor: nutty brown butter, tender vanilla cake, toasted coconut, sliced almonds, and a salted caramel top that does not need a speck of frosting to make someone fall on the floor once they taste it.
